i love easy crafts, and sending people mail.

PRO TIP: i have a folder where i keep greeting cards ive found (usually from shopping in my sister’s craft closet.. shout out dumblebunny crafts), along with my stamps so when it’s someone’s birthday or i want to send a card, i have a bunch to choose from and don’t have to run to the store. i can jot off a little note, slap a stamp on that bitch, and put it in the mailbox without running an errand.

OTHER PRO TIP: i also screen shot when i get addresses from people, then save it to an album called “addresses” in my phone, so i have it whenever i need it and don’t have to keep asking, because who has/uses an address book anymore?

ANYWAY if you find yourself wanting to do a holiday craft, OR in the position where you’re like shit, christmas is so soon and i haven’t even started thinking about my christmas cards DONT WORRY IVE GOT YOU.

EASY PEASY CHRISTMAS CARDS

sometimes i get overwhelmed when i make a list of who all i want to send christmas cards. its like omg how i am i gonna make that many (not that its an enormous list, im not that popular).

im always vascilating between wanting to make a little somethin somethin for the people i love to get in the mail around the holidays, and feeling overwhelmed doing it. even though i went to art school (or perhaps more accurately, BECAUSE i went to art school) i get nervous that if i try and draw or paint something for everyone’s cards itll be shitty and stupid. and im constantly battling with my horrible handwriting when it comes to cards, and trying to ways around it.

maybe you’re in the same boat, or just don’t have the patience to hand draw a bunch of cards, or the skillset or whatever.

THIS CRAFT IS PERFECT FOR ALL SKILL LEVELS AND EVEN CHILDREN.

WELL THEN MAY I INTRODUCE STICKERS AND MAGAZINES

WHAT YOULL NEED

• green, red and white construction paper

• christmas washi tape (i got this set a couple years ago, and am still going through it)

• a glue stick

• scissors

• envelopes

• a christmas themed sticker book (that’s the one i used, but i also have these two sticker books that aren’t christmas themed

• old magazines

i have a subscription to cosmo i got one time when i was trying to get past the paywall to look at a piece for some reason, so for the past year the magazine has come in the mail, and i toss it in my craft closet, then occassionally flip through it and rip out pages for future collages.

ive also started cutting out letters (which is really almost meditative) and now i have a little bit of a collection, which i used for this craft!

HOW TO

• pick a color of construction paper and fold it hotdog style, then hamburger style. or whatever order you want, it doesnt matter. just fold it into fourths.

• then pick from your supplies and START STICKIN shit to the paper!

• if you have a custom message you want to write that doesnt fit with the stickers, thats where the magazine letters can come in.

BOOM THATS IT. once you’re done put them in an envelope, address them and get those little bitches in the mail!

SURE. MAYBE. YOU DICK. but GUESS WHAT! you’re sending these to people you love, and that presumably love you back! they’d probably appreciate a turd with a bow on it if it came from your heart! AND so many people dont even SEND cards anymore, so its nice to get even if its a shitty card.

the christmas sticker book even has little gift tags, but because i didnt need them, i made them a card.

the flower sticker i used here wasnt even from the xmas stickers, but i think looks hella festive. so use any green and red shit that speaks to you

ANOTHER (BONUS) EASY HOLIDAY CHRISTMAS CRAFT

my mom got this paint your own wooden ornaments kit i think last year? and we didnt do it. BUT my mom, sister and i busted it out over thanksgiving and had a lot of fun.

the kit ALLEGEDLY comes with everything you need, meaning it comes with the a shitty brush, and a few not great paints, SO if you have your own brushes, and acryillic paints, bust those out. and if you REALLY wanna fly, use paint makers.

i cant find the exact one pegz had, but they have a bunch on amazon.

it was such a fun night paintin’ and talkin’ and not on our phones.
