tis the season
to try and figure out wtf to buy for your loved ones
the holidays are fast approaching, and that means its time to buy presents for your loved ones, OR EVEN YOURSELF. no judgement.
if you’re my mom (hi pegz!) and looking at this list for gift ideas for me, WELL SORRY. i already have most of this stuff. this list is for OTHER PEOPLE.
GIFTS FOR THE CRAFTER IN YOUR LIFE
SPANGLES aka giant sequins (as seen used HERE for my kitchen stools, but the possibilities are endless)
this children’s craft kit! i got this for xmas one year, and have used various parts of it for so many crafts. its a good addition to any crafter’s materials, or a great way to get started crafting. (i used items from it to make my tiny dolly)
sticker books! i like (and own) two of these books, and think they have such great stickers for anything you may need.
a set of colorful pens! like this one, which i dont have, but looks fun.
a paint set! i have this gouache paint set, and like it a lot. when it dries out, you can reactivate it with water! or if they like watercolors, this set looks nice.
paint markers! poscas can get pricey, so they can make a nice gift.
IMO everyone needs an assorted set of googly eyes.
but if they’re already stocked up on googly eyes, you can get them a big or bigger set of googly eyes.
nice art paper! this set of watercolor paper looks cool, because they can use it to paint and send postcards.
TINY BABIES , obviously this list wouldnt be complete without them.
crafting necessities: like scissors, brushes (these are good for gessoing, priming, whatever), pencil sharpeners (you never realize you don’t have one until you’re ass deep in a project involving colored pencils), mod podge,
a big ass set of washi tape , or something to store their washi tape if they already have a lot.
slippers so they’re cozy while craftin. THESE ONES ARE BREAD
‘shitty craft club: a club for gluing beads to trash, talking about our feelings, and making silly things” book! elle got me this as a gift when we were in nyc and so i can confirm it makes a GREAT GIFT.
simple times: crafts for poor people by amy sedaris. i love amy sedaris and everything shes ever done, including this book.
Pet portraits ! ive mentioned this before, but my sister makes really amazing pet portraits. it’s too late to order full color and get it guaranteed before xmas, BUT you can write a nice lil card and tell them it’s coming, OR order a line drawing, which there is still time for.
this gold sequin charm! have someone on your list who loves sequins, crafting, and/or gold jewerly? have $138? this 14k charm is a great option. ive seen a lot of people on tiktok with it, and it looks so cute IRL.
OK LOVE YOU BYE
